Tampa Bay Buccaneers Fire Head Coach

January 8, 2016

Late Wednesday night, January 6, 2016, the Bucs fired their Head Coach, Lovie Smith.  Some in the media have claimed that the firing was race discrimination.  The Bucs cited poor on field performance as the reason for the termination decision.  Lovie Smith had a 8-24 record as the Bucs Head Coach.  The Bucs have hired three African American Head Coaches, two, Tony Dungy and Raheem Morris, had no previous heading coaching experience.  As the Bucs search for their next Head Coach, the team must interview at least one minority candidate (the Rooney Rule).  If you have questions regarding race discrimination in employment, please contact your Tampa Employment Lawyer, Darren D. McClain.
