The Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (“EEOC”) recently found that Wal-Mart engaged in discrimination when it failed to offer benefits to same sex couples. Specifically, the EEOC ruled that Wal-Mart discriminated against a lesbian employee when it refused to provide health coverage to her and her wife, who had ovarian cancer.
