Treated Different, Seek Advise

September 29, 2014

In today’s work environment, it is sometimes difficult to determine why employer make employment decisions, especially terminations.  Employers, because they can, often refuse to provide a reason for termination.  Thus, when an employer makes a decision you do not agree with, it is very important to seek counsel.  One of the first questions I ask is whether you believe you have been treated differently than employees in similar positions but with different protected classes (race, national origin, sex, age, disability, religion, for example).  If you are terminated because of some kind of alleged misconduct and another employee is not, that can send up the red flags.  Therefore, it is very important to contact your Tampa Employment Lawyer Darren D. McClain when you are subject to an adverse employment action.
