Employment Agreements

Do Not Sign Employment Agreements Without Consulting an Attorney

Darren D. McClain reviews employment agreements

Employers sometimes require employees to enter into a contract related to their employment that can include employment agreements, non-competition, non-soliciation agreements or separation agreements.  These employment agreements contain valuable legal rights and obligations.  When an employer offers a separation agreement, for example, often a certain amount of money or wages is offered in exchange for the employee agreeing not to sue the employer.  If the employee agrees to the separation package, the employee can no longer bring suit against the employer for any illegal conduct that occurred during the employee’s employment.  Employers may also require an employee to enter into a non-competition agreement at some point during employment.  Non-competition agreements restrict employees from working for certain employers that compete with the employee’s current employer.  Do not sign away your rights without contacting Darren D.
